LNG-The Clean Energy

Natural gas, undoubtedly is the fuel of the future. It not only offers economical running costs compared to conventional fuels, in the range of up to 40% savings, it also helps protect the fragile environment by reducing the carbon footprint.

• Elementary savings with Natural Gas start with the stark difference in cost of the fossil fuels, diesel at all time high touching Rs 100/liter, compared to LNG which is about Rs 50/kg.

LNG Technology

• Liquified Natural Gas is considered as the cleanest fossil fuel as it has around 95% Methane. The biproduct of LNG combustion is water vapor and a small amount of CO2 making it safe for environment. It drastically reduces the emission of CO2 by about 50% and more.

Safety

• LNG is a safe fuel, and can be transported with relative safety. During its transport, the natural gas is cooled down by means of a refrigerated cycle process that involves compression followed by condensation, expansion, and evaporation. During this process it transforms into a liquid form at -160°C: which is commonly known as Liquified Natural Gas (LNG). This begins the journey of LNG which is odorless, colorless, non-toxic and non-corrosive.
• LNG now can be stored and transported in LNG tanker ships. The product now is transported in thermally insulated tanks, specially designed to it in the liquid form at -160°C.
